The department Software Development and Platforms is the dev unit within the Bavarian public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk. We build websites and blogs and smart applications for screens of all sizes. We work closely together with various editorial teams in radio, television and web and have developed digital products and innovative platforms such as BR24, BR Mediathek or – in collaboration with ARD Online - the ARD Audiothek.

Your tasks:

For our Audience Analytics team we are looking for a Student Assistant (f/m/x) who is passionate about numbers and the stories they tell. You will help us understand the behaviour and needs of our users as they interact with our content across all our digital platforms. You will work closely with our Web Analysts to unearth actionable insights and promote data-driven decision making. If you love excel sheets and want to learn how to work with state-of-the-art web analytics tools, this is a great role for you!

  • Support Web Analysts to identify current trends in the behavior of users.
  • Support Web Analysts to prepare presentations for stakeholder-meetings and management.
  • Collaboration with editorial teams of BR24 and BR Mediathek.
  • Partner with User Experience team on A/B testing projects, hypothesis creation, KPI definition, and data-driven UX design.

Your profile:

  • Strong analytical aptitude: Student in a technical or quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, Data Science and similar), OR demonstrated analytical and technical ability. . Fluency in German OR English. Office language is German, but we also have colleagues who only speak English. For applicants from abroad: Working experience in a German company (e.g. internship/working student).
  • Analytical mindset, structured mode of working, and passion for digging into data. Solid Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • A high interest in journalism and the latest developments in digital news- and video- platforms.
